Adapting our services to suit your requirements
Rugby Plastics offer an array of plastic injection moulding services which can aid
your company and assist with the manufacture of your
products.
Our vast knowledge of the industry enables us to provide
our customers with a powerful resource and method for
success. The services listed below are integral to
the plastic injection moulding process and can be adapted
depending on your requirements.
CAD Design:
Our CAD (Computer Aided Design) system is a combination
of hardware and software that enables our designers
to devise every part of the product. CAD allows our
designers to view a planned image from any angle
with the push of a button and to zoom in or out for
close-ups and long-distance views. In addition, the
computer keeps track of design dependencies so that
when the designer changes one value, all other values
that depend on it are automatically changed accordingly. |
 |
Rapid Tooling:
This is the application of rapid prototyping methods
to the fabrication of customized moulds, dies, and
tools used to produce parts. Rapid Tooling is distinguished
from conventional tooling in that the time taken
to complete the process is much shorter, it costs
less, tool life is longer and it possesses wider
tolerances. |
 |
Insert Moulding:
This is the process by which plastic parts containing
metal inserts, or other materials, are produced.
The inserts are placed in the mould prior to the
injection of plastic. The plastic then flows around
the inserts and fixes their position. This enables
an integration of materials to meet the needs of
companies requiring bespoke products. |
 |
Sonic Welding:
The process of Sonic Welding involves the assembled
plastic parts of the product being subjected to high-frequency
sound waves. This vibrates the seams of the plastic
and causes friction and high, focused heat. This
heat actually melts or welds the plastic parts together.
The process is very clean and allows for a strong,
nearly unbreakable bond to be formed. |
 |
Printing:
There are several processes of printing that can
be used and applied to the presentation of your plastic
product. Hot foil printing is recognised as a very
durable form of marking or decorating one off or
volume parts. Silk screen printing is the stencilled
replication of images from a piece of film which
is then used to ink the design to the product surface.
Pad printing is used for printing across relatively
small areas of plastic items and also when the area
is difficult to get at or contoured. In addition
to this other printing processes are applied to many
of the plastic products produced by Rugby Plastics. |
